Before You Begin
Take a moment to read these instructions carefully before testing. Make sure your hands are clean and dry.
How to Use
For Midstream Tests
- Remove the test from its wrapper.
- Hold the handle and place the absorbent tip directly in your urine stream for 10 seconds.
- Place the test on a flat surface while it develops.
For Strip Tests
- Collect a small urine sample in a clean, dry cup.
- Dip the white tip of the strip into the urine up to the MAX line for 10 seconds.
- Lay the strip flat while the test develops.
Reading Your Results
- You’ll see the liquid begin to travel up the strip. Wait at least 1 minute before checking.
- Do not read the result after 10 minutes, as it may longer be accurate.
Understanding the lines:
- One line (control line only): The test has worked, but no pregnancy hormone (hCG) was detected. You may not be pregnant, or it could be too early to tell.
- Two lines (control + test line): hCG has been detected, and this is a positive result — you may be pregnant.
The control line confirms the test is working properly. The test line shows whether pregnancy hormone (hCG) is present.
When to Test
- You can test as early as 6 days before your period is due, though results are most accurate from the day of your expected period.
- If testing early, use your first-morning urine for the best chance of detecting hCG.
- A positive early result usually indicates pregnancy.
- A negative early result may mean hCG levels are not yet high enough — test again when your period is due.
A Note on Early Testing
Our highly sensitive tests can detect very low levels of hCG. Sometimes this means picking up a chemical pregnancy — a very early miscarriage that happens before many women even realise they are pregnant. This is common, accounting for up to 50–70% of early losses, and is usually a sign that conception has occurred but the embryo hasn’t continued to develop.
At Fruitful, we know every test you take carries hope and emotion. That’s why we’ve designed ours to be accurate, affordable, and easy to use — so you can feel supported every step of the way.
